Finding a sofa for a smaller living room or hallway really shouldn’t be an arduous task. It should be enjoyable and straightforward, with plenty of choice – and shouldn’t cost the earth.

But it doesn’t seem to be the case. The lack of choice is something I hear all the time and also something we have taken on board as a brand.

I know so many people with the most beautiful, petite houses and apartments in cities around the world, and I really do not think they should have to compromise on style, or comfort for that matter.

That is why our traditionally handcrafted furniture comes in all shapes and sizes to suit the grandest homes to the smallest abodes.

We have a gorgeous collection of small sofas and chairs, but we can also create our other larger pieces in bespoke sizes. It means we can create a deep, short sofa, or a narrow, long sofa – whatever works for your space.

Each piece is created by hand at our English workshop and upholstered in your choice of fabric, whether it is from our own collection or something you’ve found elsewhere.

Fabric choice is even more important when it comes to a smaller space as it becomes more of a focal point, so it is important to get it right. Our team will guide your choice if you require any help and will be happy to provide various options from beautifully soft silk velvets to richly textured linens.

Small, elegant sofas

One of our most popular smaller sofas is the Alexandra, which looks particularly good in a narrow hallway. That said, it is such an elegant piece it can work in almost any space, regardless of size.

We recently made the small Emily sofa in a gorgeous soft pink silk velvet for a client’s petite living room, which was just beautiful. Our Capri silk velvet has a beautiful sheen to it, which worked well in the smaller space as it seemed to reflect the light.

The handsome Hamilton sofa is neat and compact, and super comfortable with its firmly sprung back. It comes as a 2-, 2.5- and 3-seater, but we can adapt the sizes for tighter spaces. It is the perfect lounging sofa and has all the style and comfort you would expect from a larger model.

Small sofas with matching chairs

Each of these sofas comes with matching chairs, which can be made in the same fabric for a very uniform look, or in a contrasting colour or different fabric which can often bring more interest to a smaller space. It creates multiple focal points and can help create a sense of more space. However, we like to mix styles to create a more eclectic look and have many different small chairs to choose from.
